Dental Health Screening
When you attend an appointment with us you will receive more than 'just a check up'.
Our dental team will perform a thorough and comprehensive examination following
the 9 key steps:
1. Medical history update
Our staff will ask for your medical history update such as drug allergy, medication etc.
2. Gum health assessment
Our dentist will check the health of your gums, presence of any ulcers
and other gingival diseases. Untreated gum problems can lead to:
- Bad breath
- Loose teeth
- Pockets between tooth and gums
- Tooth loss
3. Oral health hygiene instructions
You will be given advise on how to take care of your teeth,
correct methods of brushing and flossing and how to prevent tooth decay.
4. Caries diagnosis
While not all tooth decay means a filling is necessary, undetected caries
can lead to abscess and causes toothache.
5. Bite
Whether your teeth bite well together and how you can correct your bite to enjoy your food better.
6. Satisfaction with appearance
Our dentist will also discuss with you how happy you are with your teeth and smile.
7. Treatment plan and options
Your dentist will explain what they've found,
what your treatment options are, the cost of each option and help you make a decision about what's best for you.
8. Dietary advise
Tooth wear and tear can be caused by:
- Acidic drink
- Grinding and clenching of teeth
- Over enthusiastic brushing.
9. X-rays
If necessary our dentist will carry out an x-ray examination to detect caries and
other dental problems not visible to the human eye.
